George Gideon Wells, 78, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 6, 2005. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 9 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Doyle Ashburn, Bro. Bryan Findley and Bro. Tommy Jenkins officiating. Interment was in Crossville City Cemetery.
Mr. Wells was born Dec. 24, 1926 in Crossville, the son of Charlie and Myrtle (Burgess) Wells.
He was retired from Tennessee Technology Center as an auto mechanic instructor and was of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Danny Morgan of Crossville; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Linda Wells of Virginia Beach, VA and Kim and Susan Wells of Granger, IN; sister, Martha Ciprian of California; and six grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maude Louise (Gist) Wells; three infant sons, George, Dennis and David Wells; brothers, William, Edward, Robert, Thomas and Nathaniel Wells; and sisters, Frances Caudill, Mary Harper and Lucille Adkins.
