Dies in Illinois.

Mt. Juliet, Tenn., May 21. -- (Spl.) -- Funeral services for Joseph Peter Bashaw, 91, prominent Wilson county farmer and Confederate veteran, who died Sunday while visiting his daughter, Mrs. C. D. Eadie of GlenEllyn, Ill., following an illness of two weeks, will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Mt. Juliet Baptist church. The Rev. Taton Carney will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Juliet cemetery.
Mr. Bashaw was born and reared in Wilson county, living on his farm here all of his life except while away in the Civil war.
During the war he served under Gen. Stonewall Jackson, receiving severe wounds at the battle of Gettysburg. Later after the war he attended Washington and Lee university, while Gen. Robert E. Lee was president ofthe university;
He married Miss Salura Cook in 1870. Mrs. Bashaw preceded him in death in 1922. At the age of 80 he retired from active business life. He was an active member of the Mt. Juliet Baptist church.
Survivors are, his daughters, Mrs. C. D. Eadie, Glen Ellyn, Ill., Mrs. F. P. Provost, Nashville, his sons, Dr. J.;. Bashaw, North East, Pa.; J. B. Bashaw, Jackson, Miss, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be; L. B. Johnson, Jack Majors, Ben Yelton, Elmer Curd, Edgar Curd, Bob Young, Elbert Young, S. O. Jennings, Joe Hatfield, Arch Curl, A. P. Tate, Sumner Bradshaw, Clyde Gibson, Dr. T. R. Guill, Gordon Oliphant and W.W. Parrish.
Active pallbearers will be Emmet Vivrett, Ernest Weston, Grafton Majors, S. Majors. Rolly Peek, Glen Freeman. Courtney Freeman and Howard Young.
