He spent his boyhood In
Plankinton where he also attended
the public schools. He
enlisted In the Army in World
War I. After he returned from
the military sentence he moved
to Murdo where he became
an employee of the Chicago,
Milwaukee. SI. Paul and Pacific
Railroad. He served as brakeman
and later as conductor.
After S4 years of employment
be retired In 1953 following an
eye injury.
On Sept. 9. 1933 he was united
in marriage to Inez Lorene Doss
of Weta. Two sons were born to
them, John Robert of Davenport,
la., and Phillip Douglas at home.
Mr.Clark was a Mason for 40
years, having Joined the Plankinton
Lodge, No. 51 AF and AM in
1920. He was also a member of the
El Riad Shrine of Sioux Falls, and
Post 75 of the American Legion.
Besides his widow and two sons,
survivors include his father, L. R.
Clark of Independence. Mo.; five,
brothers. Victor J. of Hillsboro.
Ore.. Richard of Redfield, Oscar
and Chester of Ft. Worth, Tex.,
and Elwyn of Wichita, Kan.; two
sisters. Mrs. Venetta Altman of
Plankinton, and Mrs. June Richardson
of Independence, Mo.
