Funeral arrangements were being made Friday for Maj. Louis N. Berdami, 39-year old Army officer, killed Thursday night in a plane crash near Weston, Mo.
Maj. Berdami, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis W. Berdami, 4744 de Montluzin, was assigned as Instructor at the command and general staff college, Ft. Leavenworth, Kan.
He was killed when the light observation plane he was piloting suddenly nosed to the ground about two miles from Weston, according to a dispatch from Ft. Leavenworth.
Maj. Berdami enlisted in the Army in 1941 and served as a captain of infantry in the Pacific theater in World War II, members of the family said.
His brother, Joseph Beverly Berdami, a Navy bombardier, was killed in a plane crash during the Leyte invasion in World War II. Another brother, Robert Berdami, who served in the war, was a captain in the Korean war.
Maj. Berdami's survivors, besides his parents and brothers, include a sister, Mrs. Philip E. James.
