Obituary in the Selma Daily Times, May 13, 1879:
"We regret to chronicle the death at his residence in East Selma yesterday, of the venerable Col. W. B. Haralson, who has been in feeble health for some time past. Col. Haralson was on of the oldest men in this community, lacking but a few days of being eighty years of age. Though not a native of Alabama, he had been a citizen of the State for more than sixty years. A good man and a ____ citizen has fallen. Information of his death did not reach us til dark last night, hence this brief notice."
