Born in Shimerstown, then Bucks County, now Northampton County.

Was a Captain in the 1st Battalion from Northampton County under Colonel George Hubner. April 23, 1792, Edward, along with Anthony Lerch, George Henry Unangst and George LaUbach purchased one acre of land in Northampton County from Jacob Miller for the use of a school and school master.
