'CAPTAIN WILLAR DEAD
One of the Best-Known Sea Captains Sailing From This Port.
Captain George Willar, who was the oldest ship master resident in Philadelphia, died of enteritis on Thursday morning at the residence of his son, E. L. Willar, of Palmyra, N.J. in the 87th year of his age. He leaves a widow, three sons and one daughter.

Captain Willar was born at Flume, Austria, and came to this country when a young man. For forty years prior to his retirement he was one of the best-known ship masters trading from this port. He was the pioneer in the west coast of Africa trade, when a sea captain was required to be not only an able navigator, but a business man as well.

Until the past three weeks he was never ill for a day in his life. He was a member of the Captains' Association. For ten years he was inspector of oil stowage at Point Breeze. The funeral will take place Monday morning from his late residence, 1007 South Third street, and the interment will be made at West Laurel Hill Cemetery."
