Phoebe Hatcher Marshall Carr was Capt. Francis X. Marshall and Sarah Jacobs' daughter. She married John "Noggin" Carr on December 23, 1835. They had 11 children: Sarah J.; Thomas; Elizabeth Ann "Betty"; James K.;Joseph Marshall; John H. Wesley; William "Bill"; Mary "Mollie"; Lou Ellen; & Mattie E.

Phoebe and her father, Francis', graves stones are the only clearly marked stones in this cemetery, the others being either field stones or markers with initials only. Her husband who married again after Pheobe's death, is buried with his 2nd wife in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Macon County, Tennessee outside Lafayette, Tennessee.
