HAMPTON - Darrell E. Hunter Jr. was born in Hampton on May 13, 1975. On May 31, 2012, at the age of 37, he left this world to be with the Lord.

Darrell was such a fun-loving person. He was an avid NASCAR and Earnhart Jr. fan. He loved hunting, fishing, bowling, and just hanging out at home with his family and friends. The Serrano family gatherings were a favorite. Darrell had worked for Darrell E. Hunter Builder, Inc., with his father for the past 12 years. He and his father worked side by side for all of those years. He was such a talker and loved visiting with people.

Darrell was preceded in death by his grandmother, Shirley Musselwhite.

He left behind two beautiful children, Jacob and Michael; his father, Darrell E. Hunter Sr. and stepmother, Sally; his mother, Brenda L. Jones and stepfather, Kenny (Shorty) Jones; grandparents, Clarence and Emma Jean Hunter; brother, Eric Hunter; aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of many others, too many to mention.
