John R. Padilla, a local attorney, passed away April 21, 1998 in a local hospital, after a short illness.
John was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1928. He moved to Corpus Christi with his family at the age of four.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Arthur C. and Dorothy Padilla; and one brother Arthur Carroll Padilla Jr. of Ft. Worth.
He served in the U.S. Air Force. He attended Del Mar College of Texas and Texas A&M College in Bryan College Station. He graduated from Texas A&I Kingsville and the University of Texas and recieved a law degree from St. Mary's University in San Antonio. He practiced law in Chorpus Christi for 40 years until his illness.
He is survived by his wife Yvonne; two sons, John David and Jeffrey Scott all of Corpus Christi, Texas and one daughter, Holly Ann (C.J.) from Richmond, Texas; two grandchildren, Jeremy Lee and Mia Sara. Grandchild Tylor Padilla was born after his death.
Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 1998 with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Seaside Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 1998 at the Seaside Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be: Charles Barker, A.C. Jones IV, Ray DuBose, Robert Fox, John Welsh and Truman McCord.
Honorary Pallbearers will be W.W. Jones II, Frank Adams, V.A. Bradley Jr., Jerry McCord, Roger Powell, and Mark McCord.
