Louis L. Batchelder, 91, of Two Rivers, formerly of Irma, died Thursday, July 30, 1998, at North Ridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.

Born in Lyons, IA on April 5, 1907, Louis was the son of Albert and Margaret Stevenson Batchelder. On June 15, 1935, he married Evelyn Becker at St. John's Lutheran church, Two Rivers.

Louis was employed at Hamilton Manufacturing Company for 46 years, retiring in 1972. He was a charter member of Calvary Lutheran Church and a long time board member of the Hamilton Credit Union.

Survivors include his wife; sons Roger (Judy), Two Rivers and Lee (Jan), Newton; grandchildren Linda (John) Streu and Paula VanLaarhoven, both of Two Rivers; Lori (Phil) Hardee, Milwaukee, Amy Batchelder, Evanston, IL and Hans Batchelder, Newton; and great-grandsons Michael and Brian Streu and Ethan VanLaarhoven. Further survivors included brothers Alvin, Delbert and Howard, all of Coeur D'Lene, ID and Leland, Carey, ID; sisters Margaret Henrichs, Merrill, Ila Buchanan, Oroville, CA and Delores Boyd, Port Angeles, WA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Louis was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services were Saturday, August 1, 1998, at Calvary Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. Rev. Robert Sullivan officiated and entombment was in Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth.
