Deceased Name: Hubert Keith Purser
Hubert Keith Purser, age 86 of Gulfport went to be with our Lord, Monday, May 19, 2003.
He was a native of Hazlehurst, Mississippi and a resident of Gulfport for 65 years. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a pilot and navigator in the Philippines during WWII. He retired from Sears Roebuck and Company after 35 years, and was a member of the Gulf Coast Camellia Society. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lyman where he held the office of Deacon, Sunday school teacher and Choir member for many years where he touched the lives of many.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alice, to whom he was married to for over 53 years, by his parents William Elton and Minnie Purser, brothers, Vincent and Elton Purser and a sister, Ruby Rogers. He is survived by his daughters, Susan Coakley, Nancy Lopez, a son, James Purser, all of Gulfport; 8 grandchildren, Travis and Alison Coakley; Lori Bosarge, Matthew, Jonathan and Sarah Lopez; Kathy Pisut, Keith Purser, one great-grandchild, Hayden Bosarge, and cousin, Rupert Purser of Pascagoula.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 21, 6-9 p.m. at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, Highway 49 N in Gulfport. Funeral service will be Thursday, May 22, in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 am., where friends may visit an hour prior. Burial will be at Evergreen Gardens in Gulfport.
