BOYSEN, DARWYN

Darwyn Boysen, 58, of Ord, Neb., formerly of El Dorado, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 1994, at his home. Graveside services are 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Oakland Cemetery, Seneca, S. D. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in El Dorado with Rev. Dick Sipe officiating.

He was born Nov. 4, 1935 in Dixon, Neb., to Fredrick and Helen (Beuck) Boysen. He graduated from high school in Faulkton, S. D. in 1952. He attended airline and travel school and worked as a reservation agent for North Central Airlines in Aberdeen, S. D. He managed the family grain elevator in Bowdle, S. D. in 1972 and in 1979 moved to Rapid City, S. D. where he worked for Control Data as a line manager. In 1983 he moved to El Dorado and opened a travel agency.

On June 17, 1956 he and Janice Stotz were married in Tolstoy, S. D.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in El Dorado where he served as a Deacon, taught Sunday school, led Bible Studies and had a prison ministry. He was a member of ASTA and the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include: wife, Janice, mother, Helen Boysen of Seneca, S.D., daughters, Donna Streeter, Denise Haupt, both of Ord, Neb., son Darnell Boysen of New Castle, Wyo., sisters, Marilyn Senn of Chandler, Ariz., Joyce Pendleton of Lenexa, brother, Lawrence of Seneca, 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorials are to the Valley County Hospital Home Health, the El Dorado First Baptist Church, and the Bethel Baptist Church in Ord. Ord Memorial Chapel has the arrangements. (El Dorado Times, Jun 3, 1994)
