Mrs. Dovie Samples Perry, age 80, of Suwanee passed away on Friday, Aug. 14, 2009. Mrs. Perry was born May 8, 1929, in Forsyth County and lived in the Level Creek community for many years. She worked in the cafeteria at North Gwinnett High School for many years and also worked for Wal-Mart in the fabric department. She was a member of the Peoples Bank Travel Club, a member of the Suwanee Good Timers, and a member of Shadowbrook Baptist Church in Suwanee. She was an avid seamstress, enjoyed going fishing, and loved working in her flowers and vegetable garden. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she will be greatly missed by her family and by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Franklin Perry; and parents, Alvin Lonzo and Odessa Bullock Samples.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Hoyt Fox of Suwanee, Jessie and Greg Hannah of Buford; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Judy Perry of Suwanee, Barry Perry of Suwanee, Johnny "John" and Penny Perry of Suwanee; 12 grandchildren, Frankie Perry, Bucky Perry, Randy Perry, Chris Fox, Kim Franks, Joey Perry, Monica Burton, Iris Keith, Philip Hannah, Luke Hannah, Melissa Camiscioni, and Cliff Calvert; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lola Baggett Boyd of Buford, Martha Givens of Flowery Branch; brothers and sisters-in-law, Monroe and Nellie Samples of Cumming, James and Shirley Samples of Cumming; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
