William Doyle Wilson, 77, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 10:10 p.m. on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
He was born on July 5, 1934 in Madisonville, KY to the late William Franklin Wilson and Ruby Campbell Wilson. He was a United States Navy Veteran. He was a retired coal miner with Homestead Coal in Ohio County and was a carpenter. He was a member of Grapevine Baptist Church in Madisonville.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Alma Skaggs and Irene Hale; and two brothers, Leon Wilson and Thomas Wilson.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Wilson of Michigan; his daughter, Amy Balls of Bremen, KY; his son, Frankie Wilson of Michigan; four sisters, Gladys Cartwright of Madisonville, Melzie Wilson of Jeffersonville, IN, Audrey Darity of Greenville, KY and Betty Sell of Nebo, KY; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Rev. Sam Beeny officiating and Rev. Franklin Skaggs and Bro. Tom Mills assisting. Services will be conducted graveside by Hopkins County Honor Guard. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Thursday at Harris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Donald Cartwright, Ricky Wilson, Tommy Omer, Johnny Omer, Joe Omer and Danny Wilson.
