Anna Beauregard Bowen, only daughter of CSA General John Stevens Bowen and his wife Mary Kennerly Bowen was born in St. Louis May 26, 1860. Woman's Who's Who, published in 1914, listed her as an 1878 graduate of Visitation Convent in St. Louis, having been elected as President of the Alumnae Association for several years. She later moved to Philadelphia where she was secretary of the Tabernacle Society of Notre Dame for many years. "Annie" Bowen never married. She died Jan. 28, 1940, in Philadelphia, and was buried beside her mother in Cavalry Cemetery in St. Louis.
