Jacquelyn "Jackie" Sue Alexander
December 14, 1957 - June 15, 2012

Jacquelyn (Jackie) Sue Alexander aka Doodle Bug the Clown, 54, surrounded by family and friends, was called from her sickly body to be made whole again as she joined Christ Jesus in heaven.
Jackie was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Alexander, and brother Charles Alexander, Jr. Jackie is survived by her dad, Charles Alexander and step-mother Mary, siblings Mike Alexander and wife Joan, Brenda Stancik and husband Larry, and Dewana Burnham; nieces and nephews, Troy, Martha, Crystal, Len, Sean and Chelsea; great-nephews/nieces Matthew, Joshua, Alex, Caden, Jacob and Katie. Cousins, aunts, uncles and friends are too numerous to name, but share deeply in this loss. Jackie also leaves behind her beloved dogs, Charlie and Goose.
Jackie was a graduate of Spring Branch High School, attended Lamar University where she played rugby and sang in the choir, graduated from Houston Community College, a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, and a member of the Cheerful Clown Alley #166 of Houston.
Her professional career encompassed a variety of occupations. She worked for four different Las Vegas hotels as a collections secretary, an insurance clerk for a large firm, a human resource secretary at a tile manufacturing plant, and a professional clown.
In past years, Jackie served her church family on the single's board, youth board, prayer team and as writer, actor and singing member of the Agape Company for the Saturday night services.
Sixteen years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a prognosis of eighteen months to live. God had other plans. Jackie spent her entire life touching lives everywhere she went. Whether she was at home with family and teaching her dogs new tricks, church, playing with children, taking chemotherapy or clowning, Jackie was filled with love, kindness, joy, and an incredible faith, which she readily shared. Even in her final season, caretakers entered her room in hopes of lifting her spirits, only to exit the room with their own spirits lifted up. How did she do that?
Visitation with the family will be held Friday, June 22 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at D.M. Dettling Funeral Directors, 14094 Memorial Dr. @ Kirkwood. Services will be held at Saturday, June 23 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1515 Hillendahl. Interment will follow in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jacquelyn Alexander Funeral Fund at Comerica Bank, 2820 Gessner, Houston, TX 77080, The Cheerful Clown Alley #166 (501C (3) non-profit organization) PO Box 2192, Houston, TX 77252-2192 or St. Mark Lutheran Church designated for the Second Family Ministry.
