Martha is the daughter of Aaron Frost Marden and Katherine Howe. Her place of birth is in question as in two documents her birth is listed as Nrw Hampshire and and in three documents it is listed as Vermont. Her marriage document lists it a Guildhall, Vermont.
In the 1850 census in Guildhall she and her sister Henrietta was living with her mother in her grandparents house. They were all listed as Howes.
By 1860 in Guildhall she married Ashley Willard Rosebrook, son of Pliny Rosebrook and Elizabeth Amey.
They had one child, Freddie. He died in 1866 when he was 3 years old.
In 1860 they lived in Guildhall - Ashley was a farmer; in 1870 in Burke, VT - Ashley was a farmer & teamster; in 1880 in Jefferson, NH - Ashley worked in a hotel. In 1885 they were back in Guildhall (or at least that is where Martha died)
Ashley married two more times after Martha died. She is buried here beside him. Their son, Freddie, is buried down the road in the Crawford Cemetery.
