Sandra A. Carter, age 73, of Amberg, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2011, at Dickinson County Hospital.

She was born in Amberg on June 27, 1938, daughter of Francis and Mabel (Duenn) Beattie.

Sandra married Gary Carter on October 5, 1957, in Chicago. She enjoyed playing bingo and loved to cook, especially baking Christmas cookies. She loved the holidays. Sandra was very active within the Amberg community. She was involved in starting the Amberg baseball diamond and also was the President of the PTA for many years. Sandra was a very good mother and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Sandra is survived by four children, Gary (Vicki) Carter Jr., Terry (Renee) Carter, Kevin (Tyann) Carter and Jennifer (Dave) Carter; 12 grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters, Marilyn (Stanley), Debbie (Gary), Mary Jane (Bob), Jean, Dorothy, Karen (Harry) and Jack. She is further survived by numerous extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Sr. and brothers and sisters, Bob, Marion, Joan and Bud.

Funeral service will be 12 p.m. (noon) on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at the Messar Funeral Home in Wausaukee. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Amberg Cemetery.
