He was the beloved husband of Hilda (nee Gall), dear father of William Baumgarten, Rosemary (Karl) Melms and Betty (Daniel) Brooks, grandfather of Todd, Ann and Craig Brooks, Peter, Christine and James Melms, brother of Mrs. Vera Hughes and Mrs. Irene DuBois of Baraboo, Wisconsin.
Services were held at Unity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1025 E. Oklahoma Ave. Interment was made in Woodlawn Cemetery.
