WILLOW LAKE, June 10--Mrs. Margaret Kannegeiter received a message from the war department notifying her of the death of her brother, Pfc. August P. Waldow, who was injured during combat on Luzon.
Pfc. Waldow was born on a farm near Willow Lake Oct. 2, 1910, and lived there until he was inducted into the army June 19, 1941. He was overseas 22 months and participated in several major campaigns. Prior to being on Luzon he was on the Hawaiian Islands and New Guinea.
A prayer service in his memory was held here Sunday, June 3, in the Lutheran Church in Willow Lake with the Rev. W.H. Ziekuhr officiating.
He is survived by seven sisters and six brothers: Mrs. leo Kenny, Mrs. M. Kannegeiter, Mrs. Dora Bruns, Mrs. M. Warkenthein, Willow Lake; Mrs. Emma Heismeyer, Estelline; Mrs. Minnie Johnson, Fergus Falls, Minn; Miss Alvina Waldow, Long Beach, Calif.; Theodore, Willow Lake; George, Lake Preston, Martin, Bryant; William, Vancouver, Wash., Cpl. Paul H. Waldow of Fredrick, Okla., and Carl of Erhardt, Minn.

PVT. AUGUST WALDOW REBURIAL FRIDAY
WILLOW LAKE, Oct. 13--The body of Pvt. August Waldow will arrive in Vienna Wednesday and burial will be Friday in the Hague Cemetery.
Pvt. Waldow was killed while serving in Europe. He lived in Willow Lake all his life until he entered the service.
A military service will be held by the Johnny Fonken Post of Willow Lake at the graveside service and the Rev. W.H. Zickuhr will officiate.
