MUNCIE--Gloria Ann (Shippy) Haney, 81, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 24, 2012 at Ball Hospital after an extended illness.
Gloria was born in Kendallville, IN on July 5, 1931 and was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Margaret Shippy and her brother, Larry Shippy.
Gloria was a faithful, loving wife and an extraordinary mother of seven children, 25 grandchildren, plus 16 great-grandchildren. She worked side by side with her husband, Roy, at Haney Health Care Pharmacy, for 44 years. She loved ministering at Grace Baptist Church, this included singing in the choir, coordinating the track ministry, and secretary of the adult Sunday School. As the wife of a deacon, she assisted for many years in the organization of food for people in need and many other ministries. Gloria loved her husband, her Lord and her family--she was an amazing woman.
She is survived by her faithful husband of 61 years, Roy; her brother, Terry and Cheryl Shippy; and her seven children, Debby and Steve Canfield with their 6 children and 11 grandchildren, Tami and Marty Herron with their 4 children and 3 grandchildren, Tara and Mike Nathan with their 2 children, Lori and Brad Rodebeck with their 2 children, Brad and Carol Haney with their 3 children and 2 grandchildren, Aimee and Jeff Gerber with their 4 children, and Andy and Vivian Haney with their 4 children.
The viewing will be held at Grace Baptist Church in Muncie, 6401 River Road, on Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. and from noon to 1 p.m. Friday. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to Heritage Hall Christian Church. Parson Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
