A celebration of life for Terri Lyn Cukjati of Sacramento will be conducted at 5 p.m. Sunday at St. Francis Elementary School Social Hall, 2500 K St., Sacramento.

Ms. Cukjati died Tuesday, Dec. 24, in Sacramento. She was 45.

She was born on Feb. 28, 1957, in Grass Valley to Edward Cukjati and Ione Read. She attended schools in Nevada County until fifth grade, graduating from high school in San Francisco. She served in the U.S. Army for three years, and worked at the Presbyterian Hospital in San Francisco until moving to Sacramento, where she had a pet-sitting service.

She was a member of the Ryan White Planning Council-C.A.R.E.S. and Breaking Barriers. She enjoyed sports, golf and gardening.

She is survived by her father and stepmother, Ed and Barbara Cukjati of Palm Springs; sister, Jodene Miles of Sacramento; uncle, Rich Read of Fresno; niece, Desiree Cukjati of Grass Valley; aunts Edy Lindvall and Rose Cukjati Harris, both of Grass Valley; and cousins Linda Boom, Denise Forbes, Sharon Hill, Hal Lindvall, Marie Balestieri, and Bobbi Smith, all of Grass Valley, Adrienne Kanyuk of Berkeley, Lauretta Bliss of San Leandro and Barbara and Jerry Cukjati.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ione Read Cukjati; brother, Dan Cukjati; and aunts Elaine Read Bernard and Leona Read Gillis; uncle, Joe Cukjati; and cousin, Gary Harris.
