December 29, 1917 – January 26, 2001

George W. Gunnett Sr. of Lower Paxton Twp. died Friday in the Villa Teresa Nursing Home, Lower Paxton Twp.

He retired as parts manager from A.R. Amos Co.; was a former Lower Paxton Twp. Republican committeeman; a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Penbrook; and a former member of the Lower Paxton Twp. Lions Club.

Surviving are his wife, Anna E. Vasco Gunnett; a son, George W. Jr. of Highspire; four daughters, Eleanor Fabisiak of Westminster, Calif., Georgia Zehring of Mechanicsburg, Anna Jane Wade of Manito, Ill., and Patricia of Winchester, Va.; a sister, Dorothy Roberts of Mont Alto; 20 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in his church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, West Hanover Twp.

Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the church.

Wiedeman Funeral Home, Steelton, is handling arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made to Villa Teresa Nursing Home, 1051 Avila Road, Harrisburg 17109; or his church, 2848 Herr St., Harrisburg 17103-1817.
