Jane F. Gygax 1920 - 2009 BENNINGTON Jane F. Gygax, 88, widow of John W. Gygax, a resident of Maple Street died Monday, March 2, 2009, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation, following a long illness. Born in Bennington on April 20, 1920, daughter of Daniel and Marguerite McGovern Barber, she received her education in Bennington and was a graduate of Bennington High School, Class of 1939. In earlier years Jane was employed at the former County National Bank. She was a devout member of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church. Jane was a lover of all types of animals. John and Jane were married in Bennington on Jan. 5, 1942. John died Nov. 18, 2004. She leaves a son, William H. Gygax of Bennington, and a grandson, Jeffrey Gygax of Washington, D.C. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Jane Gygax will be held in the spring at a time to be announced. Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery. Should friends desire, contributions in memory of Mrs. Jane Gygax may be made to Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church through the office of the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
