Jane Burner Weaver, age 92, passed away Sunday, June 3, at Falls City Care Center in Falls City, NE. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 30, 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Falls City, burial will follow at the Steel Cemetery in Falls City.

No visitation or viewing is scheduled.

Obituary:

Jane Burner Weaver passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012. She was a resident since September 27, 2011 after suffering a stroke on August 10, 2011 in Falls City.

Jane was a cancer survivor for more than 35 years.

Betty Jane Burner was born in Sabetha, Kansas, on January 3, 1920 to Dr. Edwin L. Burner and Gladys Timberlake Burner.

She attended Sabetha schools and graduated from Sabetha High School.

She attended Washburn University and subsequently worked in Topeka and New York during World War II.

She was united in marriage to Phillip Hart Weaver on April 6, 1946 in Sabetha, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Phillip Hart Weaver, in April of 1989, her brother Dr. John Burner (Vesta) and her sister Kathleen Davis (Sandford).

She is survived by her twin sister, Bonnie Jean LaDow (Jess) of Kalispell, Montana. She is also survived by her five sons, Phillip A. (Merleann) of Whitney, Texas, Edwin (Sarah) of Lincoln, Nebraska, Daniel (Linda) of Bedford, Texas, Frederick (Rita) of Falls City, Nebraska, and Douglas (Marsha) of Grapevine, Texas. Seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.

Until her stroke, Jane was an active member and volunteer at the First Presbyterian Church of Falls City.

She was a long-time member of P.E.O., Sorosis, and the 84th Congressional Club. She was an avid walker and in her 70's started painting as a hobby.

She was always upbeat, full of life and always wearing a smile. She will be dearly missed and loved in our hearts forever.
