Evelyn F. Brost, 94, former village of Cleveland resident, went home to her Lord on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home in Sheboygan. She was born December 21, 1917, in the town of Newton, the daughter of the late Robert and Rose Baumann Lutze. Evelyn graduated from La Follette Grade School in the town of Newton. On April 19, 1938, Evelyn was united in marriage to Melvin F. Brost, at St. Isidore Catholic Church, the couple resided in the rural Cleveland area until 1945, when they moved to the Village of Cleveland. The marriage was blessed with four children. Mr. Brost passed away August 1, 1993. Evelyn was a loving "stay at home" mom. She was a member of the former St. Wendel Church in Cleveland and of the church Christian Women Society. She was presently a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in the town Newton.

Evelyn is survived by one daughter, Marlene (Edward) Kleckner of Cleveland; two sons, Jim (Sandy) Brost of Cleveland; and Jeff Brost of rural Newton; six grandchildren, Mike (Jane) Kleckner of Sheboygan Falls; Lori Kleckner of Cleveland; Sue (Chuck) Holzwart of Cleveland; Kim (Scott) Peterson of Adel, WI; Stacy (Dan) Budreck of West Bend; Kevin (Kathy) Brost of Fort Atkinson: 13 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; one son, Allen; one brother and sister-in-law, Norman (Ruth) Lutze; one stepsister, Hertha (George) Wussow; and Randy Thomas, husband of Lori.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2012, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in the town of Newton. Father David Zimmerman will be celebrant of the Mass and burial will follow at St. George Cemetery in the Village of Cleveland.
