Dorothy S. Benzschawel, age 85, of Rivers Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Reedsville, died on Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 19999, at St. Mary Catholic church, Reedsville. The Rev. Tom Long will officiate with burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Clarks Mills.
She was born March 15, 1914, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late John and Mary Schuler Stiefvater. On June 11, 1935, she married Joseph O. Benzschawel at Manitowoc. Dorothy was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Reedsville.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Donna Benzschawel, New Holstein; three grandsons, Jeffrey, Madison, Gary and Dale, both of New Holstein; one great-granddaughter, Courtney Marie, New Holstein; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Esther Kimmes, Francis Creek, Marie Wier, Manitowoc, Hallie Strodthoff, Two Rivers and Kate (Edward) Oswald, Manitowoc. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 14, 1973.
