Mrs. Herbert (Alma) Vogel, 74, of Valders, died Tuesday evening, May 15, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, Valders and 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. The Rev. John Conrad will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Vogel was born Sept. 1, 1909, in the Town of Cato, daughter of the late John and Emma Berge Alfson. She attended Valders Schools and was a 1928 Graduate of Manitowoc Teachers College and received her Bachelors Degree from Oshkosh Teachers College. Mrs. Vogel taught in rural schools and was employed by the Valders School System from 1956 until retiring in 1974. She was married to Raymond Brennan in October of 1939 and he preceded her in death in 1975. She then married Herbert Vogel Sept. 29, 1980, at Clarks Mills. Mrs. Vogel was a member of American Association of Retired Teachers, University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Alumni Association and Valders Senior Citizens.
Survivors include her husband, Herbert; a brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Hertha Alfson of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Evelyn Peterson of Valders; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, Valders, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, where a prayer service will be at 8 p.m.
