Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2000, at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Clarks Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. John Conrad. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Church Cemetery.
She was born August 29, 1904, at St. Anna, daughter of the late George and Celia Dela Hunt Keenan. She attended Kiel area schools, graduating from Kiel High School in 1922. She was also a 1924 graduate of Milwaukee State Teacher’s College. On August 31, 1928, she married Harold C. Brennan at St. George Catholic Church, Elkhart Lake, Wis. He preceded her in death on October 10, 1987. She formerly taught school in the Wausau and Manitowoc Public School Systems. Ruth was a member of the Valder’s Progressive Club and the St. Mary’s Christian Mothers.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Patricia (Richard) Erickson, Shakopee, Minn., Douglas (Alice) Brennan, Valders, Gerald Brennan, Oshkosh, Harold Brennan, White Lake, Wis.; 11 grandchildren, Jan (Robert) Jirik, Jill (Richard) Buresch, Jan (Mitch) Linder, Thomas (Renee) Erickson, Julie (Mark) Koth, Gina (Michael) Gibbons, Douglas (Lynn) Brennan, Rick (Julie) Brennan, Elizabeth (Gary) Brenizer, Sarah (Grant) Spellmeyer, Maureen (Andrew) Rust; 25 great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Myrtle Keenan, Wauwatosa. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was further preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ruth Brennan; two brothers and one sister.
Friends may call at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Clarks Mills, on Monday, April 24, 2000, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. There will be no Sunday evening visitation. Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, Valders, is assisting the family.
