Mrs. Gertrude R. Brunner, age 80, of 127 McKinley St., Valders, went to her etrernal rest on Nov. 21, 2005, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 5 p.m until 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at St. Mary's Catholic church, Clarks Mills. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 7 p.m with the Rev. James Jugenheimer
presiding. Burial will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at St. Mary's Church Cemetery.
Gertrude was born on Oct. 22, 1925, at Clarks Mills, daughter of the late Louis and Rose (Tienor) Schmidt. She attended St. Mary's School at Clarks Mills. Gertrude was employed at Nestles Company, Valders, the Mirro
Company, Manitowoc, and at the Village Inn at Valders, until her retirement.
On Oct. 24, 1959, she married Adrian Brunner of St. Nazianz at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Officiating at the wedding Mass was the Rev. Henry Arens. Gertrude loved spending time with her grandchildren, working in her flower garden, as well as cooking and baking.
Survivors include her two sons and daughter-in-law: James Brunner, Manitowoc; and Steve and Susan (Hamilton) Brunner, Georgetown, Texas; one grand daughter: Andrea Rose Brunner; on step-grandchild: Michelle Mayfield, Long Beach, Calif.; and great grandchildren: Jadyn and Jonah. Gertrude is further survived by one sister: Mrs. Marcella Schermetzler, Manitowoc; two sisters-in-law: Mrs. Lucille (Edward) Schmidt and Mrs. Delores (Jerome) Schmidt, Valders. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Adrian on Dec. 9, 1998; two brothers: Edward and Jerome Schmidt; two sisters: Mrs. Caroline (Marvin) Robinson and Mrs. Marie (David) Novak; and three brothers-in-law: Marvin Robinson, Jacob Schermetzler, and David Novak.
The Christianson & Deja Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Valders, is assisting the Brunner family with arrangements.
The Brunner family would like to thank the communion staff at St. Mary's for bringing communion to Gertrude's house every Sunday, and for the regular visits from Father Jim Jugenheimer and Deacon Tom Koch every first Friday of the month. We will never forget your kindness.
