Mrs. Christel, nee Esther M. Mallmann, was born Jan. 13, 1900, at Quarry, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late John and Dorothy Riesterer Mallmann. She was a graduate of Manitowoc County Normal with the Class of 1920. She taught in the St. Nazianz area until her marriage. She was married to Norbert W. Christel Sept. 24, 1924, at Clark Mills. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church Christian Mothers Altar Society.
Survivors include her husband; five sons, a daughter, (survivors edited for privacy) two brothers, Ray, of Kohler and Louis, of Fond du Lac; a sister, Mrs. Wallace Meves, of Sheboygan; and 22 grandchildren. Two sisters preceded
her in death.
