Mary C. Waniger, age 93, of 105 W. Main St., St. Nazianz, went to be with her beloved Savior after a short illness on Friday morning, Feb. 11, 2005 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
She was born May 23, 1911 in Valders, daughter of the late Joseph and Magdalena Tuschl Siegel. On June 12, 1931 she married Arthur J. Waniger at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. He preceded her in death Nov. 5, 1993. Mary was a member of the Christian Mothers at both St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills and St. Gregory Catholic church, St. Nazianz.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Francis and Alice Waniger, St. Nazianz; Charles Waniger, Manitowoc; Thomas and Carol Waniger, Valders; three daughters and sons-in-law, Rosemary and Jerome Kiefer, Boulder, Colo; Faye and Leo Riesterer, St. Nazianz; Margaret and Gerald Post, St. Nazianz; 25 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and one brother and five sisters-in-law; Aloysius and Jean Siegel, Milwlaukee; Jeanette Siegel, Kansas City, Mo.; Olivia Siegel, Appleton; Laurie Waniger, Howards Grove; and Christina Waniger, Collins. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rita Ann Waniger; a daughter-in-law, Lois Waniger; a granddaughter, Mary Alice Waniger; two infant grandchildren; a great granddaughter; a great great grandson; four brothers, George, Frank, Joseph and Raymond Siegel and two sisters, Bernice and Irene.
