Edwin was the son of Reuben Giles Palmer and Judith Luella Ainsworth Palmer. On June 1, 1893 he married Eva Adele Maynard. The couple had four children: Pansy Eva, Delmer Maynard, Alice L. & Clarence Edwin. Eva died March 2, 1903 in Battle Creek, MI. On December 31, 1903 Edwin married Cora L. Rathburn (nee) Hutchins. They had no children. Edwin was manager of the Review & Herald Publishing Association in Takoma Park, MD. from 1912 to 1931.
