Ahltjen and her parents (Jans Jansen Klattenberg and Talke Jansen Homier), brother, and 2 sisters immigrated to the U. S. in 1866. On 2 March 1868 she married Johann Janssen Aden in the rural South Prairie church (now Holy Cross located in Golden, Illinois) by Rev. J. T. Bolticher. They moved to a farm in Harmony Township near Bentley/Carthage and lived in a log cabin. He purchased the farm 12 July 1873. 9 children were born here (3 died). In 1883, they moved to a farm near Chatten, Illinois (4 children were born). In 1906, they moved to Quincy, Illinois. In 1909, they moved to Golden, Illinois and built a new house and another new house in 1919. He died in 1923. Her brother's information follows.
