VEDA SUTTON, 81, of Pearland, Texas returned to her Father in Heaven on August 25, 2002. She died in her Pearland home. Veda was born on March 30, 1921 in Blanchard, Oklahoma and lived in Corpus Christi, Texas most of her life. Devoted Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Mother and friend, Veda had a young heart and passion for family and life. Veda attended school in Blanchard, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Blanchard, Oklahoma. Veda assisted her husband, Charles Stanley Sutton, with his business, the Sutton Floor Company for over forty years. Her hobbies included sewing and traveling and she most enjoyed preparing for family gatherings. She was known for her incredible cooking and famous dessert, Chocolate Delight. Veda was the best at organizing any room of the house and would volunteer to help any family member with even the most dreaded chores. She loved being needed and appreciated by her family. Veda enjoyed sewing clothes, window treatments, costumes and much more for her grandchildren and family. Her five-year-old great grandson recently showed his Dad one of his ripped toys and said "We will have to take this to MeMa. We sure are lucky to have a sewer in the family." Veda survived breast cancer in 1984. Matthew 5:8 says; Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. And no one else that we know of had a bigger, more caring heart than Veda. Thus, we know exactly where she is sitting right now. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Stanley Sutton who died in 1984. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Dick Lemmon and Charlotte and James Robertson and her son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Mary Sutton; sisters, Edith Craig, Iris Morgan, Opal Boen, Verda Surerus and Dell Bailey; brother, Norvel Joe Moore; grandchildren and their spouses, Douglas and Dia Robertson, Kent and Roxanne Robertson, Tammy and David Brueggeman, Charles and Michael Sutton, Terri and Ron Langner and Randy and Yvonne Lemmon; great-grandchildren, Christina Robertson, Samantha Robertson, Wade and Ashley Brueggeman, Lindsey and Lauren Langner and Randal Lemmon.
