John Schad, 67, of Valders died at his home in the village Friday morning following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Clarks Milles with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Michael Fetko, St. Mary pastor, will officiate.
Born in St. Nazianz in 1884, Mr. Schad married the former Theresa Tuschel in 1909. The couple farmed in the town of Newton before moving to Valders about 10 years ago. Recently he had been employed by the Valders Elevator Company.
Surviving in addition to the wife and three daughters, Mrs. Jerome Schneider of Osman, Mrs. Joseph Grady and Mrs. Donald Ross, both of Valders; two brothers, Edward and Joseph both of St. Nazianz; two sisters, Elizabeth Schad of Manitowoc and Mrs. Peter Dahm of Skokie, Ill., and seven grandchildren.
