Former mayor of Lincoln Park, New York. Wife of William Mitchell, the inventor of Pop Pocks candy, Cool Whip and the flavoring agent for Tang. She and her husband lived in Lincoln Park, New York, from 1949 to 1984. They raised seven children there where she served as the borough's mayor, and Mr. Mitchell served as a school board member. In 1984, the couple moved to Vermont.
