George Junk, 53, of Clark Mills, died Monday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, Valders, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clark Mills. The Revs. Leander Nickel and Francis Rose will officiate, the parish Holy Name Society will provide a guard of honor in the church procession. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Junk was born Feb. 7, 1920, in the Town of Maple Grove, son of Joseph F. and Anna Haarman Junk. He was educated in Manitowoc schools. He married Grace Chaloupka Aug. 30, 1941, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. The couple farmed in the Town of Kossuth until 1961 after which Mr. and Mrs. Junk operated Junk’s Bar, Clark Mills. He was a member of Valders Lions Club, St. Mary Holy Name Society and Manitowoc County Tavernkeepers League.
Survivors include his wife, Grace; five sons, Jerome, of Chelsea, Mass., Gordon, with the U.S. Navy, Adak, Alaska, James Guy and Georg Jr., at home, two daughters, Mrs. Georgia Pribble, of Riverside, Calif., and Sister Marie Jeanne, of Chicago; his parents of Whitelaw; four brothers, Jerome, of Manitowoc, Ronald, of Rt. 2, Manitowoc, Arnold, of Rt. 4, Manitowoc, and Joseph Jr., of Mishicot; two foster brothers, Earl Junk of Manitowoc and Lloyd Junk, of Beloit; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Van Haren, of Manitowoc and Mrs. Clarence Kocourek, of Redwood, Calif.; a foster sister, Mrs. Dale Bolle, of Rt. 1, Whitelaw. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Christianson Deja Funeral Home, Valders, after 4 p.m. Wednesday, where a prayer service will be held at 8 p.m.
