Edward J. Krall, 97, formerly of Valders, passed away Monday morning, January 27, 1992, at St. Mary’s Home, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clarks Mills, Rev. John Conrad officiating, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
He was born January 19, 1895 in the town of Franklin, son of the late Jacob and Anna Swoboda Krall. He worked as a cheesemaker in the villages of Grimms and Clarks Mills prior to his many years of employment as a milk inspector at the Nestle company in Valders. After the closing of the Nestle Company, he was employed by the White House Milk company in Manitowoc until his retirement in 1960. He married Rose Gintner October 19, 1920 at St. Mary’s Church in Clarks Mills. Mr. Krall was a Veteran of World War I, a charter member of the Valders American Legion, Post No. 28, a member of the Valders and St. Nazianz Senior Citizens and a charter member of St. Mary’s Holy Name Society. He was a Trustee for the village of Valders for many years and also serviced on the Board of Park Lawn Home in Manitowoc. He was an avid outdoorsman and greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Rose; one son, Eugene of Manitowoc; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Larry Salutz of Manitowoc, Joanne and Al Sheehy of Reedsville, Jackie and Marvin Brandl of Newton; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Helen Marlborough of Manitowoc; one son-in-law, Robert Meissner of Reedsville; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by three daughters, Beatrice Krall, Genevieve Fitzgerald and Audrey Meissner; one son-in-law, John Fitzgerald; one grandson, Billy Fitzgerald; two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, Valders, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service at St. Mary’s Church. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Tuesday by Father Tom Wojciechowski followed by the American Legion service at 7:45 p.m.
