Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully at home July 17, 2012 at the age of 81. Ronald was born July 27, 1930 in Lansing the son of Lyle and Vera Norris. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict. He was a lifelong resident of Lansing and will be remembered for his generous giving heart. His greatest joy in life was being able to help others. He loved softball, golf, hunting and bowling and was a member of the Eagles, Moose and VFW Lodges. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Carolyn "Kitty" in 1995; and his son Roger in 2006. Surviving to forever cherish his memory are his loving wife, Marie; daughter, Vicki (Brian) Chaney; sons, Rory Norris and Ronald "Ronnie" Dan Norris; grandchildren, Angela (Sam) Harcus, Shaun Glasscock, Ronnie Dean Norris, Derek Glasscock and Rhonda (Justin) Powell; as well as numerous great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing with the Rev. Darrell Neves of Faith Church officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, July 20, 2012 at the funeral home. Interment will take place at East Lawn Memory Gardens in Okemos with military honors. For those desiring, contributions in memory of Ronald may be made to the to the VFW Post #701, 123 N.
