Louis Denk, 55, of Clarks Mills, treasurer of the town of Cato who was renamed
to a new ???? ???? in April, died Saturday morning at the Holy Family Hospital,
Manitowoc, of a cerebral hemorrhage.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Her?? Funeral Home,
Valders and at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Mary Catholic Church, Tisch Mills. The Rev.
Michael Fetk? will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was born July 17, 1899 in Cato, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Denk and
on June 6, 1921 married Miss Agnes ????. They located in Clarks Mills where he
operated a garden and vegetable trucking business. His wife died in 1945.
Denk was named town treasurer 12 years ago and has served continuously since.
Surviving are seven daughters, (private); brother, Marcus of Manitowoc, four
sisters, Mrs. Michael Schuh of Manitowoc, Mrs. Louis Pivonka, Mrs. Dorothy
Brun of Cato, Mrs. Leroy Christenson of Rt. 1, Valders, and 14 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. on Monday where the Rosary
will be recited at ? p.m. Monday.

Miss Agnes Jirik, daughter of Mrs. Jacob Jirik of Gleason, Wis., and Louis Denk, of Valders,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Denk of Clarks Mills were quietly married at 6 o'clock this morning
at the Catholic church at Clark's Mills, the Rev. Geiling officiating at the ceremony. The couple
were attended by Miss Anna Denk and Nic Schuh and immediately following the ceremony a
reception was held at the home of the bridegroom's parents were a wedding breakfast was
served to a small company of invited guests. Mr. Denk and bride took their departure today for
a wedding trip to the home of the bride at Gleason where they will spend a week or ten days
and will return to make their home on a farm near Valders.
