Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 1994, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Roman Zbieranski, O.F.M. with entombment to follow in the Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth. Military rites will be accorded by the VFW Otto Oas Post #659.
He was born November 17, 1916, in Manitowoc, son on of the late John and Frances Komorski Andrastek. He married the former Bernice M. Henrickson June 21, 1941, at St. Lukes Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Mr. Andrastek was a veteran of the United States Navy during World War II serving with 301 Construction Battalion in the South Pacific. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1991. Mr. Andrastek served 34 years with the Manitowoc Fire Department retiring in 1979 as the Battalion Chief. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Young Men's Club, St. Mary's Men's Club Dartball Team, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aeries #706 of Manitowoc, and was also a life member of Amvet Post #99 and VFW Otto Post #659. He was also a member of the Carpenters Union, Boiler makers Union, and the Firefighters Union.
Survivor include his wife, Bernice, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Kristen Andrastek, Appleton; one daughter and son-in-law, Pat and August Krieser, Manitowoc; four grandchildren, Michael Krieser and his spouse Vicki, Shawn Krieser, James Jr. (Jamie) and Jacob Andrastek; two great grandchildren, Jessie and Tristan Krieser; one sister, Dolores Hilderman, New London; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4-8 p.m. on Friday where a prayer service will be held at 7:10 p.m. led by Father Roman.
