In 1900, Simeon and Jane (Stoddard) Sherwood were living in Brookings, SD. Jane had given birth to 5 children, 4 of whom were still living. Their son Frank A. Sherwood was living in Burnside township near Red Wing, MN. By 1910, Simeon and Jane were also in Burnside, enumerated as in-laws in the home of John and Nellie Tyler. By this time, only two children were living (Frank died in 1907). Sometime after Jane died in 1911, Simeon moved to the State Soldiers Home inMinneapolis, where he died in 1923.

His death record gives his parents as Isaac Sherwood and Hannah Adams.

Sherwood Funeral Today. — Pall bearers at the funereal of Simeon Sherwood of Minneapolis, mother[sic] of Mrs. John Tyler of Burnside, held from Swansons' Tuesday, were C. A. Sargent, W. A. Thompson, S. L. Morley, Jacob Brown, C. A. Robinson, H. E. Akenson. Rev. M. Norstad officiated at the rites. Burial was in Burnside cemetery.
