Linda Walters, age 62, of rural Rising City, died Saturday, July 28, 2012 at her home.
Linda was born October 30, 1949 in Columbus, Nebraska to Ervin and Naomi (Bradshaw) Walters. She grew up in Columbus and received her education from Columbus Public Schools. Linda graduated from Columbus High in 1968. On January 22, 2007 she married Wes Baxa at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus. Linda worked for her uncle, Eugene, as an assistant, in his dental office before beginning her career with the City of Columbus. Linda was currently serving Columbus as their City Clerk and Assistant Director of Finance.
She is survived by her husband: Wes Baxa of rural Rising City, brothers: Ken (Kathy) Walters of Columbus, Edward (Gail) Walters of Broomfield, CO, nieces: Carrie (Patrick) Prentice of Omaha, Kelly (Dan) McPherron of Topeka, KS, nephew: Jon (Sadie) Walters of Albuquerque, NM stepchildren: Lisa (Ron) Swiatek of Denton, NE, Lynn Rex of Lincoln, NE, Mark (Debra) Baxa of Charlotte, NC grandchildren: Danielle, Michaela, Jonathan, Justin Swiatek, great nieces and nephew: Emma & Paige Prentice, Alexa & Natalie Walters, Lane Prentice.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents and step son: Michael Baxa.
