Cora was born February 16, 1919 on a homestead in Oral, South Dakota to Henry Verwolf and Jenny VanDenBurg Verwolf.
She married Lester C. Henrickson on August 15, 1936 in Livingston, MT. He passed away on February 23, 1974; together they had three sons and two daughters. Cora married Melvin Burbank on January 1, 1990 in Quartzsite, AZ. He passed away on April 15, 2002. From this marriage she gained another son, daughter and son-in-law. She had lived in Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada and finally in Utah, where she built her own home. Cora did many types of work; she was the first woman lumber grader in a saw mill, she worked farm work, waitress, income tax preparer and retired from IRS as an auditor.
Upon her marriage to Melvin they traveled all over the United States in a motor home. They lived in Arizona in the winters and Utah in the summers. She loved square dancing and danced into her late 70's. She also crocheted beautiful afghans creating the patterns herself. Cora spent her last years with her daughter and son-in-law in Willard where her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren visited her.
Surviving are her children: Virginia (John) Hansen, Willard; Vivian (Ray) Crawford, Twin Falls, ID; Jim Hendrickson, Florence, MT; Donald (Paulett) Hendrickson, Medford, OR; Marie (Derlin) Fowles, Ogden; Warren Burbank, Ogden; siblings: Ruby Kolberg, Toston, MT; Jean (Hershel) Simpson, Olympia, WA; and Lola Page, Pony, MT; 29 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Friday, August 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Deweyville Cemetery, Deweyville, UT.
Services under the direction of Myers Mortuary, Brigham City, UT.
