Born in a US Army Post in either South Dakota or Nebraska. Brought up in Augusta GA. Lived in Memphis from 1882 until his death. Published two novels, "The Strange Case of Pauline Wilton", and "KIngs of Dirk and Cutlass," and also a volume of verse entitled, "The Captive's Address to Fancy." Never married.
