T.S., as he was call by his wife, worked at the Saw Mill. He enjoyed playing checkers with family and friends. His younger brother, Wayde, settled on the property next to the Munyons. Wayde and T.S. were as close as two brothers could be.
Thomas Munyon died at home of a heart attack on a cold January evening. He died in his bed and was discovered that evening by his youngest child, 8 year old, Anna Mae. She had gone into his bedroom to get a cigarette for her brother Raymond. His sons, Raymond, Sam and Wayde, and wife, Ruth, were in the living room watching TV. At 8 years old, Anna Mae knew her father was dead. She kissed him and joined the others, who were watching TV. When Raymond asked about his cigarette, she told him that she could not get the cigarette because Dad was dead. The family rushed to the bedroom to find him dead.
Survived by: wife, Ruth of Glendale; daughters, Gladys Thomas (Cleo) of Myrtle Creek, Nancy Hatton (John) of Myrtle Creek, and Anna Mae Munyon of Glendale; sons, Jeddy Munyon (Rosie) of Myrtle Creek, Thomas Munyon (Henrietta) of Coos Bay, Raymond Munyon of Glendale, Wayde Munyon of Glendale, and Samuel Munyon of Glendale. Brothers: Wayde Munyon of Glendale. Chalton Andrew Munyon of Springfield, Josephine Mary Kilmer (Floyd) of Vida, TX. Numerous grandchildren.
