Almost all of the mouments described in "Greenwood: a directory for visitors. Cleaveland, N., 1853" still exist on Lots 41 & 42 and conjoined Lots 2380-2383; however Mary Craven's name is not on them.
The current lot does not appear to contain the original stones, described as ..."an altar-shaped monument to Mary Craven...three neat head-stones; of these, two are of sandstone and seem to lean trustingly against a cross of the same material. This cross is a good imitation of wood, when it has felt no tool but the hatchet...(and) a very neat-brown-stone monument of oblong form. The roof is partly bevelled. On the horizontal position rests a sculptured book, across whose open leaves lies a small stone cross. At either end there is a small niche, the projecting foot of which rests upon a cherub-headed corbel. There was some shameful defect in the masonry here; the monument and the cross manifest a sad inclination to lie down."
