Bonnie Lee Heffel, 73, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011, surrounded by her loving family and friends at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital. She was born May 11, 1938, to Emmanuel and Ruth (nee: Lovell) Heffel in Racine, where she spent her early life. Bonnie resided at the Ridgewood Nursing Home for many years. Bonnie loved music; she enjoyed singing and playing the accordion and the piano. Some of her favorite hobbies were bowling, baking, and taking bus trips. Bonnie is survived by her brother, Dennis (Shelley) Heffel; guardians, Linda (the late Randy) Prideaux and Renee (Jeff) Prideaux-Nelson; first cousins, Kathy (Tom) Williams, Sandy Gaura, and Carol (Ed) Mayer; and third cousin, Grace Nelson. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Emmanuel and Ruth; uncle, Robert Heffel; and a nephew, Christopher Heffel. Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 14, 2011, at 7 p.m. at the Polnasek-Daniels Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Aldrink officiating. Burial will take place on Friday, October 14, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. at the Graceland Cemetery in Racine. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday, October 14, 2011, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
